What is it with successful people always thinking they deserve more and then, what makes matters worse is that they often times gripe and moan about their “low-paying” jobs to everyone as if to try and make us feel sorry for their low wages. I don’t get it. There are hundreds if not thousands of people that work minimum wage jobs and I’m sure they could use a high salary and benefits as well. But judges, who only sit on their behinds all day and “make important decisions” such as where to buy drugs, what to wear to court underneath the robe and how many kids to abuse…have the nerve to ask for more money? For some reason, I get images of a judge being somewhat like a priest of a religious leader, maybe it’s the robe and the excess weight they carry, the only difference is of course that judges are ungrateful at the $200,000 dollars they earn, while priests are grateful for the lives they change, the people they help, and the $.25 cents they receive from me every Sunday when I donate money to the church. I would give more, but hey, unlike judges and their “low salaries…” I have to work two jobs to make more than minimum wage. Did I mention that my jobs are also back-breaking and will cause you to receive minor burns, a dark skin tan due to excess sun exposure (which of course can lead to cancer) and of course, at the end of the day, I will stink so bad from all the sweat that pours out of my body in gallons. You get the picture here? And, of course, there is no media to cover my story of how I have to work two jobs that are back-breaking, and then, I go to church every Sunday and give what I can to help out --- Why? Because I’m an American and America was founded on an ethos of hard work and altruism. These judges and the judicial system of America have really gone too far and embarrassed the entire American population when they moan and complain about not making enough money by sitting down all day getting paid $200,000 a year. Of course, maybe they are right and I am wrong. Maybe the judges do not get paid enough because everything they purchase is so expensive? Maybe this is it. Maybe they should not join those expensive country clubs, buy those expensive homes, buy expensive cars and send their kids to expensive schools. Maybe this is why they do not have any money? Or maybe its because they have habits to support, habits which are probably not in with the good moral character of our country. I don’t know what it is and frankly, I don’t care. If it is in the ballot that I have to vote for an increase in a judge’s salary I’m voting a big fat no!
Compare my job with the rest of the average joe and you too will realize that a wage increase for judges is out of the question. They are crying for a wage increase simply because they have not received one in a long time. Where is the logic in that?
The working class and the minimum class have not received a wage increase in a long time, and now that they are going to receive it, gas prices are sky high, the economy is doing bad and people have to pay more taxes! Finally, with a democratic congress, will the average people have time to earn some money and maybe save some. Judges and their wage concerns are visions of greed because while they are in their plush million dollar homes and playing golf at their country clubs, people like me are out working hard for a living handling metal and anything else my job decides to throw at me. This country has really gone down the drain when people in "easy" jobs complain about not making enough! I don't hear the working classes complain, all I hear them doing is their jobs to make a living, put their kids through college and pay the bills!
